Butt implants are associated with a number of disadvantages. They are often visible through the skin, can sag over time, and don't feel as real. With the Brazilian butt lift procedure, our plastic surgeon uses your own fat to reshape your butt. The injections result in virtually no scarring, and the outcome is more attractive and natural-looking than implants.

To harvest excess tissue for the procedure, we perform liposuction and remove unwanted fat from other areas of the body. Fat is often removed from the abdomen, hips, or thighs. This effective treatment enables us to contour more than one area of the body so you can leave our office with a thinner waist, more slender thighs, and a shapelier backside.

Fat transfer injections to the buttocks are far less invasive than the placement of implants. Because no incisions are made in the buttocks, patients experience fewer side effects in this area like discomfort, swelling, and scarring. The Brazilian butt lift procedure safely and effectively produces a fuller, more contoured rear.

Patients need excess fat to qualify for a Brazilian butt lift. We take excess fat from the abdomen, hips, thighs, flanks, or back to inject into the buttocks. The amount of fat needed varies from patient to patient and is determined at your consultation.

Although it’s called a “lift,” the Brazilian butt lift does not actually tighten skin. Patients with loose or sagging tissue may be better candidates for a thigh or traditional butt lift. For those with firm, toned skin, a BBL can create fuller, rounder contours.

Patients must be in good overall health to undergo plastic surgery. Certain conditions increase the risk of complications occurring. We will discuss any medications you take during your consultation to ensure they don't interfere with anesthesia or increase any risks.

Smoking can increase the risk of problems during surgery. Smoking can also increase the risk of anesthesia-related complications and delay the healing of incisions. Patients should ideally quit smoking before undergoing any cosmetic surgery.

The Brazilian butt lift procedure does not result in nearly as much swelling, discomfort, and bruising as implant surgery. However, these side effects might be more apparent at the liposuction treatment site. Typically, over-the-counter pain medication, rest, and drinking plenty of water can help you feel more comfortable and encourage healing.

Patients must wear a compression garment to aid in healing, reduce swelling, and smooth out their results. A compression garment helps the body support the new shape of your buttocks. This is worn for several weeks after the procedure to ensure the best outcome.

After BBL with liposuction, most patients resume light activities like walking, dishes, or laundry within 48 hours. Gym workouts usually restart in 2–3 weeks. Avoid sleeping on your back for 4–8 weeks to protect grafted fat and support healing for lasting results.

Typically, patients will need to take at least two weeks off of work to recover from surgery. Once patients do return to work, it is a good idea to use a standing desk as much as possible for the remainder of the recovery period to avoid putting pressure on the healing tissues.

Avoid strenuous activity after your BBL, but resume exercise once recovery is complete. A balanced diet and fitness routine are vital to maintaining your new shape. Our surgeon will guide you and clear you for higher-impact workouts when it’s safe to return.
